Kenyan Woman's Death in Arizona Puzzles US Authorities

A 29-year old Kenyan woman, Stella W. Kiarie, was found dead in a parked car on a freeway shoulder in Peoria, Arizona.

Several questions have been raised following strange revelations on the circumstances surrounding Kiarie's demise.

Early on Sunday, authorities from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) received several reports of a parked car on the left shoulder of the Loop 101 near Bell Road.

Troopers reportedly arrived on the scene on Sunday morning only to find Kiarie in the passenger seat with a rope tied around her neck.

DPS officers further told the press that Kiarie's injuries were inconsistent with a minor car crash against a wall.

They found a child safety seat in the back prompting them to check Kiarie's home.

A one-year old boy was found alone but investigators are yet to confirm whether he is the child of the deceased.

Kiarie was an employee of the Arizona Department of Health Service.

A statement issued by her colleagues described her as “a kind, compassionate and important member of this team".

"Our deepest condolences are with her family and friends at this difficult time,” it continued.

Kiarie's parents who live in Seattle, Washington flew to Phoenix, Arizona to follow up on the matter.

"The Kenyan community in Arizona is in shock. We are urging the authorities to speed up investigations because we need answers and we need to know exactly what or who murdered Stella,” John Kamau, a Kenyan living Phoenix, Arizona told Nation.
