The MP Shah hospital was put in the news when a man crashed into its hallway in what was a bizarre incident.
The incident that happened on Sunday, was explained by hospital officials as being occasioned by the driver losing control while seeking a parking spot.
A glass partition separating the hallways from the outside was damaged after the car crashed through it before being stopped by an inner wall.
Aside from the driver, the hospital reported there weren’t other casualties.
The car’s driver sustained trauma injuries to the head as he could not remember much of what happened.
The hospital grabbed headlines earlier this year in April when an incident with a patient, which resulted in a hefty bill, sparked social uproar.
Matilda Anyango had been taken to the hospital for treatment after being stabbed by thugs in Kangemi on April 11 at about 9:30 pm but died the next morning at 10:00 am accruing a bill of Ksh860,000.
In a statement on Facebook, the hospital explained that: “As with protocol, in which every patient has the right to emergency treatment and due to her critical condition, she underwent emergency surgery by a multi-disciplinary team of surgeons.”
The hospital made it clear it had given the family a breakdown of the bill after further explaining that bills aren’t dictated by the duration of admission of a patient but rather the extent and complexity of medical procedures.
