Uhuru Responds After Affidavit Linking Him to DCJ Mwilu Arrest

President Uhuru Kenyatta has spoken out after an affidavit linking him to the arrest of DCJ Philomena Mwilu.

The affidavit claimed the President had a hand in the arrest of Mwilu following her participation in the nullification of 2017 presidential results.

Uhuru while addressing journalists at Athi River stated that the war on graft should not be politicised as that would have a detrimental effect on the future of the country.

“I shall not allow this war on corruption to be politicised. Irrespective of your social status, if you are on the wrong, carry your own cross,” he stated.

He also urged civil servants to take responsibility of their actions and to cease blaming junior officers for their mishaps.

‘We will no longer be blaming junior officers and letting senior officers to go scott free. If you can not do your job, step aside.”

The Head of State vowed he will no longer allow a few individuals to enrich themselves illegally at the expense of 45 million Kenyans.

Uhuru also reaffirmed his earlier statement that not even his friends will be spared in the revitalized fight.

He was speaking at East African Portland Cement where he witnessed the destruction of goods worth Ksh 1.1billion.

151 motor vehicles brought illegally into the country and wrongly declared were crushed.

The contraband goods also included sugar, rice, cooking oil and electrical appliances.
