Joy Doreen Biira, Mugambi Mutegi Ranked Among Most Influential Business Journalists in The World

Former KTN News Anchor Joy Doreen Biira has been ranked among the most influential business journalists in the world.

The list compiled by Richtopia features 250 of top business scribes who are described as effectively 'having soft-power and being pro-active, particularly in the digital sphere'.

The Ugandan born news presenter was ranked at number 22 in the list pitted against the best business journalists in the world.

Humbled, she took to social media to express her gratitude at the recognition.

"I don’t know if Richard Branson’s response to my tweet months ago had anything to do with this. I’m honoured to be mentioned alongside the greatest business Journalists in the world," she wrote on Instagram.

Since she exited Standard Media Group, Joy has been active in the business sector hosting various corporate events.

Also recognized was former Business Daily writer Mugambi Mutegi who was ranked at number 44.

After working for the Nation Media Group publication for eight years, Mutegi quit earlier in 2018 to join the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK).

At the time of his exit, he stated; "After eight years working at Nation Media Group’s Business Daily, it’s time to say goodbye to the only job I’ve known since leaving campus. It’s been my pleasure penning articles for my readers (you). It’s time to chart a new course, career-wise. I leave NMG fulfilled. Cheers."

He is currently the Communications & External Relations manager at CAK.
