Eastleigh-bound Bus Hijacked by Armed Thugs

Five armed gangsters posing as passengers robbed the users of an Eastleigh-bound bus at gunpoint, used force and coercion and carted away with cash and valuables.

The thugs drew their guns at the General Waruinge-Pumwani Hospital intersection and took charge of the vehicle on its way from the CBD.

The gangsters ordered the driver to steer the vehicle towards Kariobangi. They then robbed the passengers of cash, phones, and assorted valuables.

The passengers were later abandoned in a dark alley within Kariobangi and left for dead.

According to narrations by victims, the thieves roughed them up and used physical violence to have their way.

Speaking to the press, Nairobi Deputy Police Commander Richard Kerich indicated that his officers had intensified their search for the suspects.

“ Members of the police officers are mapping and cobbing the city for crucial investigation links," stated Kerich.

The senior security agent further revealed that the police were taking cautionary measures to firewall criminal activities in the city.

Some of these steps include building strong physical barriers between drivers and passengers in all public service vehicles and amplifying metal screening surveillance.

He, however, expressed fears noting that most PSV actors failed to effectively implement these measures.
