Twelve people died on Saturday night after a bus collided head-on with a truck at Sogea along the Naivasha-Gilgil highway.
The driver of the bus is among those who perished in the grisly accident.
Six people were critically injured and are undergoing treatment at Nakuru Provincial General Hospital.
Five people with minor injuries were treated and discharged.
According to area OCPD Emmanuel Opuru, the bus was trying to overtake another vehicle when it collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction.
The bus belonging to Climax Sacco was heading to Nairobi from Vihiga while the trailer was heading to Nakuru from Naivasha.
The police boss mentioned that they suspect the driver was overspeeding before the 2am incident occurred.
