DPP Exposes Fake Account Duping Kenyans

The Office of Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has exposed a fake account duping thousands of Kenyans online.

On Tuesday, DPP uncovered a Facebook account dubbed “Nurdin Hajji – Official” which is run by unknown individuals.

It is categorized as a personal blog with about 10,000 followers.

ODPP came out to declare that Director Noordin Haji does not operate any person account.

Kenyans were also advised to ignore any social media accounts claiming to be Haji’s personal profile.

The account has been conducting opinion polls intending to rate the performance of Haji’s office.

“Are you contented with the services of the Office of public prosecution so far? You can as well drop your suggestion (if any) in the comment section, we'll consider. We will be glad to hear from you. Thanks,” one of the opinion polls read.

The page has also been giving 'official' communication that is alleged to come from the ODPP.

This is the second time that ODPP has put the account on the spot.

It is illegal to impersonate a government official and the offence carries a maximum sentence of three years.
