Ruth Mutegi Quits KBC to Join PSCU

Another journalist has quit media to join President Uhuru Kenyatta’s communications team.

Ruth Mutegi, who worked with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as a business reporter left the media house to join the State House staff.

She announced her new appointment to the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) via Facebook.

Ms Mutegi joined other journalists who were appointed to help communicate the President’s big four agenda plan.

Former Citizen TV Swahili anchor Kanze Dena, who just last week she was confirmed as the State House spokesperson and head of PSCU.

Her confirmation came after her former State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu was appointed Kenya's ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Kanze was asked to focus on the President's brand positioning, media relations and messaging with respect to the delivery of the Big Four Agenda.

State House also announced that former KTN News reporter Munira Mohammed would be joining the team as the deputy head of the PSCU and head of the Presidential Library.

Anne Mumbi Warui from Citizen TV also left the Maalim Juma-based media house and joined the Presidential Delivery Unit.

In August, State House also tapped former Citizen TV managing editor Nixon Ng’ang’a and former NTV’s Business reporter and news anchor Laban Cliff Onserio, both who now work at PDU.
