Ford-Kenya, ANC Merger Forms New Party to Wipe Out Raila Odinga Dominance in Western

Western Kenya leaders have finalized on a scheme that will wipe up the Raila Odinga dominance in their own turf, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale revealed during the weekend.

Speaking in Kakamega on Saturday, Khalwale stated that the Ford Kenya and ANC parties had been merged to form the All Kenya Alliance (AKA) party that has already been registered with the Registrar of Political Parties.

He stated that it was time for the party leaders Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi to come out and start a new journey, warning them against working with Raila Odinga.

The former Senator posited that they were keen to ensure Odinga loses the massive support he has enjoyed in the region, accusing the former PM of being selfish in his quests for power.

"The votes Raila used to get in Western Kenya will be no more. He will face us on the ground, he will not get even a single vote from us again," stated Khalwale, appealing to Mudavadi and Wetangula to partner with leaders of goodwill.

He affirmed that the party had indeed been dully registered, an exercise ANC party secretary-general Barrack Muluka had taken part in with a host of Ford Kenya party officials.

ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale on Sunday stated that the party was keen and aware of the new political outfit that is seeking to muscle out Raila from Western Kenya.

Etale stated that ODM remained unmoved despite the new development.

According to Etale, the former Prime Minister stands as a national leader, and as such his party enjoys nationwide support.

"He (Khalwale) was very clear that the party that has been forced as a result of talks between Ford Kenya and ANC has only one agenda which is to lock Raila Odinga out of Western. We are ready for it," stated Etale.

The Ford Kenya Deputy party leader has been vouching for a Mudavadi - Ruto ticket for the presidential race in 2022 and on Saturday appealed for the two leaders to hold talks in preparation for the contest.

Mudavadi has previously ruled out any attempts to unite the community, should he be required to back DP Ruto's bid to succeed Uhuru in 2022.

He termed DP Ruto as an outright rival, and would not prepare his community and end up handing them over to Ruto.
