Student Commits Suicide in Classroom After Completing KCSE Exam

A Form Four student was found hanging in a classroom shortly after he completed his last Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

Abner Mwanda allegedly committed suicide at Allidina Visram High School in Mombasa county.

He was found dead in class on Saturday evening by his fellow students.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that he was facing a disciplinary case before he killed himself.

This was after he was allegedly found with bhang.

His mother Jane Mwanda however dismissed the claim as baseless.

According to her, two other suspects also accused of being in possession of bhang are the ones who should be investigated.

The principal of the school could not be reached to comment.

Mombasa County police boss Jonstone Ipara told Citizen Digital that investigations have been launched to establish into the incident.

The family has urged the police to speed up their probe and reveal what exactly happened to their kin.
