CS Najib Balala’s photo in New York Sparks Controversy

Tourism and Wildlife CS  Najib Balala's photo became a topic of interest among tweeps after some called him out for deception.

The controversial photo showed the Tourism CS taking a selfie at a plane’s cockpit with the aircraft’s crew.

Balala had captioned the photo "Just Landed in New York… Thanks to Kenya Airways and the amazing team on Board."

Some tweeps, however, accused the CS of deceiving Kenyans alleging that he was not in the United States as he claimed.

The netizens pointed out the photo’s background’s high resemblance to Nairobi's JKIA Terminal 1A.

"Cockpit windows still show you are at JKIA. We are waiting for JFK photos," one replied to the CS.

They further asked Balala to take a photo outside the plane for them to believe he was really in the US.

"Can't wait for a selfie somewhere outside the airport. Only that can quell the rumors about not being allowed in the US," another netizen added.

Others claimed that the photo was a PR move to clear his name against claims that the US had issued him with a travel ban.

The move comes after claims emerged that Balala was among the ten politicians and government officials linked with the Akasha Drug scandal and thus was banned from traveling to the US.

Update:

Reports indicate that CS Balala travelled to the US to attend the annual Tour Operators Association in Phoenix, Arizona.
