The battle for the political parties fund in the NASA coalition has degenerated to a trade of insults by officials in ODM and other affiliated parties.
An angry Moses Wetangula, who is a principal in the coalition, referred to the ODM party as a gigolo who was nursing sexually transmitted disease.
He took to Twitter to express his displeasure noting, “Odm behaving like a gigolo that's suffering from chronic syphilis! Queens or Kings, Wiper, Ford Kenya & Anc must and will get their share of the PPF.”
He added that “Those wailing louder than the bereaved were nowhere when we were staking out our all for Raila. "Bure kabisa!"
The ODM party responded to the furious Senator by tweeting, “We will not be thrown into historic hyperbole. Such vitriol can only come from a First Year student at the University.”
ODM, which is the dominant party in the coalition, has been adamant that it will not share any money received from the government.
The Party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna had described Ford Kenya as a slay queen who had insulted the spouse and still expected rent.
“Ford Kenya has no locus standi (place of standing). The money belongs to ODM and it is the party which will decide what to do with it. There is nowhere it is agreed that we share money with anybody,” Sifuna insisted.
If the October 26, 2017 election is used as part of the criteria that shall determine what each will get, Jubilee Party shall get about Kshs2 billion and ODM Kshs1 billion.
Each of the four NASA affiliate parties — ANC, ODM, Wiper and Ford Kenya — want a share of the money allocated from the Political Parties Fund and keep monthly contributions from their Members of Parliament.
