Jubilee Party Puts UP Campaign Tenders For Grabs

Jubilee Party is warming up for upcoming political contests and electioneering activities after announcing 46 open tenders during the weekend.

The party through the office of the Secretary-General Raphael Tuju put up the tenders to the public, 12 of which will go to special groups.

Among the services, the party is seeking to pre-qualify providers, is the printing and supply of tamperproof certificates and setting up a bulk-SMS system.

"Jubilee Party intends to prequalify eligible suppliers for the supply and provision of various categories of goods, works and services for a period of one year," announced Tuju, listing the multi-million tenders.

The party intends to contract suppliers of printed T-shirts, embroidered cloth caps and paper caps alongside by-election materials, books and manuals.

The other tenders the party has set aside for special groups are for the supply of newspapers and periodical magazines, cleaning materials and detergents, stationery and computer accessories.

Tuju has also put up a job for members of the public who the party intends to task with the printing of the party's accounting documents, insurance, catering and provision of legal services.

Applicants shall part with a nonrefundable Kshs1,000 fees to apply for the tenders whose applications close on October 21, 2018.

With its overwhelming majority of elected leaders in the country, the party takes a huge share of the political party's fund.

This financial year alone, Jubilee and ODM will share a whole Kshs3 Billion of taxpayers' money to help run the parties' affairs.

If the October 26, 2017 election is used as part of the criteria that shall determine what each will get, the ruling party shall get about Kshs2 billion and ODM Kshs1 billion.

On Tuesday, ODM party leadership was at Orange House discussing the party's financial report whose details shall be made public in the near future.
