Mose Dola Handed 10-Year Sentence for Killing Wife Wambui Kabiru

A former NTV journalist, Moses Dola, who was found guilty of murdering his wife Wambui Kabiru has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Issuing the sentence, Lady Justice Roselyne Korir stated that the family was still bitter over the murder that robbed them of their loved one seven years ago.

“The victim report filed in court showed that the family of the deceased is yet to come to terms with the death of their daughter,” she stated.

Earlier in October, Dola was found guilty of manslaughter by the High Court.

The court ruled that the former journalist was the strongest party in the argument that ensued between him and his slain wife leading to her demise.

"The fatal assault was done by the accused who caused the death of the deceased and his conduct was that of a guilty person," ruled Korir.

A non-custodial sentence is a punishment given by a court of law that does not involve a prison term.

"Wambui died at a young age and the son deprived of her mother at a young age too," stated the prosecution.

The journalist explained to the court that he never intended to kill Kabiru and that he was sorry.
