Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho surprised his county residents after he bought the biggest end of year party to usher in the new year in style.
The enormously attended party took place at Mombasa Sports Club on December 31, 2018.
The party, dubbed NRG Wave, had performances by world class musicians, Sauti Sol and Ali Kiba, with a host of high-end Djs including DJ Wesley, DJ XClusive, DJ Kace and DJ niche.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Governor Joho declared that he had bought tickets for all Mombasa residents.
“Watu wa (People of) (Mombasa)...You know what, I’m gonna buy you a ticket, tonight (December 31, 2018)...go and have fun...tikiti juu yangu, (ticket is on me) for you the resident of County 001.” stated the Governor.
NRG Wave was the last in the series of high-end coastal parties that were under the umbrella tag, NRG Showdown.
The parties commenced with the sold out Wasafi Festival that took place on December 26.
On December 29, another high end coastal party took place at club Samba with performances from top acts in both Kenya and Tanzania that paved the way for the NRG Wave.
The County boss has always enjoyed a close relationship with Ali Kiba who was a main act at the event and has always been celebrated in Kenya.
