Dennis Oliech Inks 2-Year Deal With Gor Mahia, Becomes Highest Paid Footballer

Kenyan Football maestro Dennis Oliech has inked a two year deal with Gor Mahia football club making him the highest paid Kenya Premier league (KPL) player.

According to reports, the football legend is expected to pocket a total of Kshs350,000 every month and an additional of Kshs3.5 million sign off fee.

It was further reported that the sign off fee will be paid in two months installment with the first bunch paid out this month and the rest in February.

Accepting the deal, the 33-year-old expressed his gratitude towards joining the biggest team in the country stating that it was his late mother’s dream that he plays for Gor Mahia.

"It is a dream come true to feature for the biggest club in the country with the largest following in Kenya. It was my late mum Mary Oliech’s dream for me to feature for K’Ogallo. I'm happy that I achieved it, even though she is not there to witness," stated the player.

Oliech, who is a former Harambe Stars Captain, is set to be officially unveiled by the team on January 9 2019 in Kisumu.

The striker is one of KPL’s top talent with the most decorated career.

At the peak of his game, Oliech was signed to France soccer teams of FC Nantes, Auxerre and AC Ajaccio.

New Gor Mahia Head Coach Hassan Oktay revealed that he was not fazed by Oliech’s two-year absence from active football.

Despite him being out of active football for more than two years, he is in good shape. He needs to improve on his fitness, though," stated Oktay earlier.

Oliech joins two of his siblings in having played for the lakeside team after his late brother Steve Okumu and Kevin Oliech wore the green jersey.

He joined KPL while still a teenager and played for Mathare United then.
