The Court has ordered that the DCI be brought to book over the deportation of the 8 Pakistani Girls in Sports CS Rashid Echesa's human trafficking ring saga.
According to Justice Kennedy Cheruiyot, the investigators released the girls to another entity without giving an affidavit explaining the grounds for their deportation.
Cheruiyot made the ruling in Milimani Law Courts during a hearing in which, the Pakistani Girls, Through their lawyer Evans Ondieki, wanted Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and Sports CS Rashid Echesa to pay them Ksh 9.1 million for irregular deportation.
The judge, however, told them that he could not order for the accused to pay as it was beyond the court's mandate to do so.
The respondents' lawyer, Evans Ondieki after the hearing told journalists that while the court did not rule in their favour this time, Justice Cheruiyot had pointed out two issues that he would use when filing for another hearing.
Firstly, he highlighted that Cheruiyot had clearly stated that the rights of the respondents had clearly been violated.
He also added that the Justice had acknowledged that the Pakistani girls were entitled to the full benefit of the law.
Ondieki insisted that the eight girls' deportation was illegal as they had been granted legal permission by CS Echesa to be in the country.
He further added that each of the ladies had paid the Immigration Department Kshs 45,000 to be issued with special passes.
On the other hand, the defendants argued that the respondents were deported for their own good to protect them against being violated by the traffickers.
