Raila Odinga’s sister Ruth Odinga, on Monday, rebuked a former aide of the prime minister after he allegedly tried to block the prime minister’s wife's handshake to an ODM politician.
Idris Abdulrahman, who had served as Raila’s adviser when he was the prime minister, allegedly tried to block Kwale ODM vice chairman Nicholas Zani from meeting Ida Odinga.
Ruth reportedly lost her temper and dressed the adviser down.
“He was going to greet Ida but Abdulrahman blocked him. Ruth Odinga was not amused and had to rebuke the man,” a source told The Star
Zani had arrived at the former Prime Minister’s home at 5pm to celebrate his birthday.
On his part, however, the ODM leader dismissed the incident as a mere misunderstanding explaining that he has been friends with Abdulrahman.
“He is a good friend of mine and we get along well. I don’t know what got into him yesterday. But it was a small insignificant thing,” remarked Zani.
He further disclosed that he had many important things to do and think about.
“I don’t get involved in those petty things, boss. Those are petty things I don’t get involved in,” he continued.
Abdulrahman served as Raila’s adviser while he was a prime minister.
