It was agony for 264 students from Kapkenda Girls High School after it was decided that they had to repeat form four.
The students who had sat for their KCSE have been awaiting their fate since the KCSE 2018 results were released after their results were withheld.
The students now have to go back to Form Four to enable them resit their KCSE this year.
This is after investigations revealed some irregularities and malpractices in their examination centre.
The school, which is located in Keiyo South Consistency, Elgeyo Marakwet county has previously been ranked as one of the most performing schools in the region.
Meanwhile, students of Moi Naikarra Secondary school Narok County, whose results had also been withheld woke up to celebrations after they finally received theirs.
They emerged the best in the county after managing to scoop a mean score of 6.9.
Their school principal John Kuyo lauded the students for their good performance, given that 123 out of the 198 students managed to attain marks qualifying them for University.
“We knew that Kenya National Examinations Council was a fair institution and that they would look at the malice and allegations that were made. I thank them because they did,” Kuyo told journalists.
While releasing the KCSE 2018 results on December 21, 2018, Education secretary had stated that the students who did not get their results had to wait till KNEC concluded their investigations to determine whether they had engaged in any form of examination Irregularities.
“These centres will be notified of the decision soon. In the meantime, Knec will finalise investigations into suspected malpractices and release a report on or before January 31,” she announced.
