IG Joseph Boinnet Exempts Paul Soi From Wearing Blue Police Uniform

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet on Monday exempted one police boss from wearing the much debated blue uniform.

Unveiling the new Regional Police Commanders in Mombasa, Boinnet noted that Paul Soi will not wear the new uniform.

According to the IG, Soi who will be deployed to the North Eastern will be exempted from the blue uniform and instead stick to the more camouflaged jungle AP Police uniform due to his work environment.

"His uniform is a bit different because of the region he has been deployed to work in," Boinnet noted.

The police boss equally noted how Eastern Region Police Commander Eunice Kihiko looked splendid in the new uniform.

"Everyone I meet agrees with us that we made the right choice (on the color of the new uniform). I think the naysayers did not get it right from the beginning, it is a good uniform," he added.

Boinnet sent the attendees laughing after joking that the uniform for Nairobi Police Commander Philip Ndolo Ndunda had been taken back to the tailor after the one provided previously failed to fit him.

"Ile alikua amevaa haikumtosha sawa sawa. As you can see anatosha kazi ya Nairobi. (The one he was to don did not fit him. As you can see, he is equal to the enormous task of running security in Nairobi)," Boinnet joked on the heavily-built physique of Ndolo.

IG Boinnet also unveiled 46 County Police Commanders given that Nairobi Region Commander also serves as the County Commander for the city.

Others unveiled as Region Police Commanders include Marcus Ocholla (Coast ), Judy Jebet Lamet (Central), Edward Mwamburi (Rift Valley), Vinceng Makokha (Nyanza), and Rashid Yakub (Western).

The security bosses stood up and observed a minute of silence in the memory of the victims of Dusit D2 Hotel attack.
