A lifeless body of a Nairobi Police officer has been found after he disappeared during a trip to the hospital.
Administration Police Officer Vincent Kemboi’s body was discovered at Moi Referal mortuary.
It was established that Kemboi, who also doubled as a rugby player, was involved in a fatal road accident along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, on November 25, 2018, which claimed three lives while injuring six others.
Taking to social media, Administration Police rugby, which he played for, eulogised him as a dedicated and disciplined officer as well as a great team player and friend.
“We mourn our dear Bro, colleague, Teammate and a Dear friend. Kemboi was a dedicated and disciplined police officer, a team player and a friend to many who knew him. Kemboi had a jovial spirit, he liked singing, we will miss his Kalenjin Gospel songs.
“He could tackle, take the ball and took Warriors to places they never dreamed they would be,” they posted.
An alert about his disappearance first surfaced online in December 2018.
In the circular, his family explained that he went missing on November 21 when he left home for hospital alone speculating that he might have been disoriented along the way.
Several fans were sorrowful over the news taking to social media to express their condolences to the family of the deceased.
“Rest in peace...I remember how you would enjoy singing in church,” posted a fan.
“Unbelievable, he was such a jovial man everyone could wish to associate with, I received this news with regrets and deep sorrows in my heart, we have lost such energetic young man,” posted another.
