ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday held a meeting with Tanzania’s President John Magufuli.
The leader of opposition posted on his Twitter account indicating the purpose of the meeting which comes during his tour to the country.
He stated, “I paid a courtesy call on my friend President Magufuli this morning. We compared notes on regional issues.”
Raila is on record indicating that Magufuli is a great leader, who has gone to great lengths in fighting corruption in his country, over and above exhibiting strong actions of improving the lives of Tanzanians.
The former premier, who also serves as the African Union (AU) Envoy for Infrastructure, attended the SportPesa Cup final in Dar-es-Salaam on Sunday.
He handed over the cup to the winning team, Kariobangi Sharks, which won against fellow Kenyans Bandari by 1-0.
There was, however, some sense of anxiety over Odinga's health when reports indicated that he had seemingly collapsed and taken off the podium.
He soon came out to assure the people that he was “fine and in good health.”
“Dear Kenyans and friends from around the globe, I am well and in Good health. Thank you for your concern,” he added.
His spokesman, Dennis Onyango, was quick to inform that images making rounds on social media of Raila being held by his guards was only because there was a damaged step on the podium and not because he was unwell.
