Tony Timase Speaks on Moving to NTV

K24 TV Business Editor and Presenter Tony Timase on Tuesday addressed reports that he was moving to NTV.

When asked to clarify about the allegations, he told Kenyans.co.ke, "I have a contract with K24 and I'm committed there."

He likened the rumour to the speculations that surround a football transfer season, adding that he would announce when and if anything came up.

A local online publication had reported that Timase had already tendered his resignation at Mediamax.

The seasoned anchor was appointed Business Editor at K24 in 2016, replacing Solomon Kirimi who was retrenched.

Zawadi Mudibo, his former deputy, was poached by BBC in July 2018.

Other notable journalists who switched stations in 2018 include Larry Madowo and Peter Mwangangi who went to BBC from NTV.

In June, shortly after quitting his Managing Editor position at KTN, Joe Ageyo was unveiled as the new Editorial Director at Citizen TV.

Victoria Rubadiri and Trevor Ombija both left NTV for Citizen while Yvonne Okwara joined them from KTN.

Betty Kyallo's move to K24 attracted a lot of attention due to the manner with which her new show was unveiled.
