MPs Junet, Ichung'wah Trade Accusations Over Bombing Plans

MPs Junet Mohamed (Suna East) and Kimani Ichung'wah (Kikuyu) on Wednesday traded accusations over alleged bombing plans.

Junet threw the first salvo at Ichung'wah over an earlier verbal attack against Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho linking him to drug trafficking.

"Ichung'wah, I am told you people are planning some fake shootouts and Bomb explosions in your homes. Tanga Tanga has really gone too low," the Suna East MP stated.

According to Junet, the attacks on the unnamed homes would then be blamed on Joho as drug wars.

In a quick rejoinder, the Kikuyu MP told off Junet accusing him of being in a better position to stage such an attack.

"You surely know between me and you who would have access to guns and bomb-making skills or Al-Shabaab ties.

"You also know terrorism and drug trafficking are bedfellows. Walanguzi na magaidi watukome!" Ichung'wah quipped.

Ichung'wah's sentiment alluding that Junet had ties with Al-Shabaab did not go well with the Suna East legislator.

"You may think I am Al-Shabaab because of my appearance, but Mungiki is as bad as Al-Shabaab which you also appear like," Junet retorted.

In a bid to quell the argument which was seemingly getting out of hand, Ichung'wah responded; "No Sir. You look more like the lakeside Nilotes and you hail from Migori County. I can NEVER judge you from your looks but your character".

The Kikuyu MP was on Tuesday summoned by the High Court alongside Nandi governor Stephen Sang and MP Oscar Sudi (Kapsaret) for linking Joho to drug peddling.

This is after they claimed that Joho’s name was in a drug trafficking kingpins' list tabled in Parliament in 2010 by the then Minister of Interior George Saitoti from a US dossier.

Update: 2pm

The ODM legislators led by Junet and Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga held a presser warning politicians affiliated to DP William Ruto, popularly known as Team Tanga Tanga from attacking Joho.
