Police Officers Taped Assaulting JKUAT Students

Netizens have expressed their displeasure with a video of police officers manhandling innocent students from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

The video was recorded on Friday when the students demonstrated in Juja to protest the killing of one of their own.

As it begins, the two officers are seen standing in front of a shop that is located in the town.

Moments later, four students are seen walking in the direction of the officers, presumably from class.

While one of them is released, the other three were forced to sit on the ground in spite of not showing any sign of aggression.

One of the students bore the brunt of the officers as he was slapped and kicked several times before they were all released.

The video caused an uproar on social media with many criticizing the officers for excessive use of force.

JKUAT students had taken to the streets to protest the killing of a first-year female student on Thursday night who met her death as she tried to fight off thugs.

Tabitha Muthoni was stabbed in the neck during the scuffle and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in Juja.
