Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru and Mombasa Among Regions to Experience Rainfall This Week - Kenya Met

The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged the public in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru, as well as other parts of the country, to brace for heavier rainfall over the next five days.

The department's weekly forecast, which covers Tuesday, October  28 to Saturday, November 1, further noted that counties in the coastal region, the Northwestern parts of the country, such as Turkana, and the North Eastern part, such as Garissa, will also experience strong southerly to southeasterly winds of above 25 knots.

According to the forecast, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties are expected to experience day-long rains and showers accompanied by thunderstorms in this period. These conditions will also prevail at night.

The maximum temperatures during this period in these counties are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum will be 8°C.

According to the forecast, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties will also experience rain and showers during the day and night throughout the forecasted period.

The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum will be 5°C.

The same is expected in Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County during this period, according to the forecast.

However, these areas might be slightly warmer. According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 32°C, while the minimum will be 13°C.

Showers over a few places are expected in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, both during the day and night over the next five days.

These counties are expected to record maximum temperatures of 33°C and minimum temperatures of 22°C.

Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties will also experience rain and showers throughout the week, both during the day and night, in the next five days. The maximum temperature is expected to be 37°C and the minimum of 16°C.

Rains and showers are set to hit Turkana and Samburu counties in the next five days. According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature in these areas will be 37°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be 8°C.
