The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged residents across the country to brace for heavy rainfall between Saturday, October 25, to Wednesday, October 29.
In its forecast, Kenya Met said that in addition to heavy rains, some regions such as Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Mombasa, Mandera, among others, will experience strong southerly to southeasterly winds of above 25 knots.
Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties are expected to experience day-long and night showers in a few places in the next five days.
However, Sunday and Monday mornings are expected to be sunny, with rainfall likely in the afternoon and evening hours.
The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum will be 5°C.
Daylong and night showers are expected to hit Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, for the next five days.
According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 32°C, while the minimum will be 13°C.
Daylong sunny conditions and cloudy conditions at night are expected in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, on Sunday; however, showers throughout the day and night are expected both during the day and night until Wednesday.
These counties are expected to record maximum temperatures of 33°C and minimum temperatures of 22°C.
Rains and Showers accompanied by thunderstorms are set to hit Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties both during the day and night until Wednesday, according to the weatherman.
The maximum temperatures during this period in these counties are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum will be 08°C.
Sunny conditions are set to prevail Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties are set to experience on Sunday throughout the day. Showers are, however, set to hit these regions throughout the day and night from Monday to Wednesday, according to the forecast. The maximum temperature is expected to be 37°C and the minimum of 16°C.
Rains and showers are set to hit Turkana and Samburu counties in the next five days. According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature in these areas will be 37°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be 08°C.
