KANU Official Billian Ojiwa Goes Missing

UPDATE; Billian Ojiwa, who was missing, has been found.

Reports indicate that a KANU party official has been missing since Sunday evening.

The Party, through its official communication channels, expressed serious concern over the disappearance of its Chairman for the National Youth Congress Billian Ojiwa.

Attempts to reach and trace the party chairman via his phone had proved to be futile.

In its communication to the public, the party urged its supporters to help in the investigation by offering any meaningful information to the police.

Supporters were also implored to turn up at the Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi on Tuesday in solidarity with the missing party official.

Nerima Wako, Ojiwa’s wife, who is also the CEO of Siasa Place, said her husband was last seen while wearing a beige jacket, black button-up shirt, and maroon trousers.

Wako stated, “He has been missing for 44 hours. This is difficult and sometimes I have no words, but thank you for the prayers, support, and goodwill.”

Kenyans have come out to show solidarity with the family and friends of the KANU official with great hopes of finding him through the Twitter hashtag #FindBillianOjiwa.

Some sense of worry with the case of Ojiwa has been developing especially since the occurrence is happening barely a week after the disappearance of activist Caroline Mwatha in Dandora, Nairobi.

Mwatha had been vocal and instrumental in documenting cases of enforced disappearance of persons in addition to extrajudicial killings by police officers. A major case she was involved with was the murder of six residents of Dandora in October 2018.

The following is a tweet by the party.
