Huduma Kenya on Tuesday clarified about an image that has been circulating on social media alleged to be the Huduma Namba card.
On social media, Huduma center clarified about the following issues;
1. The Huduma card image refers to a card initiated by Huduma Kenya, Mastercard and four local banks in 2016 as a prepaid card to support digitization of government payments.
2. The image of the Huduma card has no connection to the Huduma Namba (NIIMS) and currently, Huduma centers are not issuing the cards.
3. Detailed information about the HudumaNamba has been provided by the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government in mainstream media and respective social media channels.
This clarification comes after an uproar from Kenyans on Twitter who were using the #ResistHudumaNamba to air out views about the card.
“Why should this so-called #HudumaNamba have an expiry date? Jubilee rip-offs won’t end soon,” stated Ole Soeni.
“There is no such thing as government services. They are public services and constitutional entitlements with or without #HudumaNamba,” David Ndii added.
The Huduma Namba registration exercise started on Monday across different parts of the country that have been selected for the pilot program.
Information from the Department of Immigration Services states the exercise is aimed at assigning individuals a unique national identification card.
