Raila Holds 4-hour Closed Door Meeting With Gideon Moi

National Super Alliance (NASA) party leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday held talks with Baringo Senator, who is also KANU chairman, Gideon Moi, in Nairobi.

The picture of the two entangled in a handshake at an undisclosed hotel sparked speculation across the country.

According to reports, the two leaders discussed various issues, one of which was the mega-dam scandal that is hinged in the heart of Rift Valley and has touched on several Cabinet Secretaries.

Raila and the Baringo Senator also reportedly discussed the progress of the building bridges initiative.

Actual details of the lengthy meeting have been closely guarded by both parties. Consequently, a political agenda angle has been tagged to the meeting.

Gideon is believed to have been hand-picked by his father and former president Daniel Arap Moi, as his successor, putting him in direct conflict with fellow Rift Valley kingpin, Deputy President William Ruto.

Both leaders have declared their interest in vying for the presidency in 2022.

The former Premier's meeting with the Baringo senator comes barely a year since the ODM leader visited former President Moi at his Kabarak home.

During that particular meeting, he was received by Gideon, MPs William Kamket (Tiaty) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) as well as KANU Secretary-General Nick Salat.
