Kibra MP Kenneth Okoth was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer and began treatment in 2018.
Going public about his condition in February, Okoth explained that since the cancer was discovered at a very advanced stage, it could only be managed and not cured.
He has since undergone combined radio and chemotherapy in a bid to manage the disease.
On Tuesday, a concerned citizen sought to find out how the MP was fairing.
"Mheshimiwa (Honourable) Okoth, how are you fairing? You crossed my mind today. I'm praying for your quick recovery," the user by the name Wambui tweeted.
In response, Okoth stated that he was fighting on even though the drugs he was taking had taken a toll on his body.
"Napambana na hali yangu kabisa. (I'm dealing with it). Chemo drugs are brutal on the skin and immune system." he replied.
The Kibra MP was forced to seek treatment in Europe since Kenya has very few facilities that provide care for advanced cancer.
Okoth urged the government to scrap the taxes on cancer drugs and equipment like computerized tomography (CT) scans so that Kenyans don’t have to seek treatment abroad.
The second-term MP further revealed that he had lost a lot of weight and experienced abdominal pains during that time.
A number of Kenyans online, showed their support for the ailing MP urging him to stay positive and fight on.
"I know it's not easy but keep on fighting sir, you're resilient and we are here to support you," one user wrote.
Another added, "You are always in my prayers Kenneth. Keep on fighting Mheshimiwa. We love you!"
