Famous Couple Back to The Streets After Romantic Diani Treat

A street couple who amazed Kenyans in 2018 after a photoshoot by Muchiri of Muchiri Frames is back on the streets after failing to make ends meet.

The couple, Sammy Githae alias Blacky and his wife Virginia Njeri, rose to fame after the photographer took random pictures of the two on Valentine's day.

The photos went viral on social media, wowing Kenyans prompting well-wishers to sponsor their makeover.

The couple was even treated to an elegant trip to Diani by a tour company, Bonfire adventures.

"Hiyo safari nilienda, inafanyanga nikae wazimu ( When I remember the trip I went to, I feel like I'm sinking into depression)," Githae narrated.

Well-wishers had promised the couple five months rent but they stopped paying four months later.

"Walituahidi tutapata cash, nyumba tulilipiwa miezi nne alafu tukakosa rent juu hatuna kazi (They had promised us money and paid our rent for four months. We were unable to pay rent because of joblessness)," he added.

In a story done by KTN, Githae confirms that their love is still strong and have been welcomed back by other streets families.

He also stated that his wife had been arrested alongside other street family members and taken to Nairobi Central Police Station for protesting along the streets.

His friends added that Githae would have bailed out a few other street families from poverty, would he have made it.
