Kabogo Warns Uhuru Over Ruto Squabbles

Former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, has cautioned President Uhuru Kenyatta against breaking his promise of supporting Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.

In an interview done on Emoo FM, a vernacular radio station, Kabogo stated that were it not for Ruto, the president would not have won the 2013 and 2017 elections.

He added that if the handshake was meant to bring peace, it would have involved all the leaders.

"Ruto helped Uhuru to win. Do you think we would have won without Ruto?" Kabogo posed.

The politician cited that he knew where the deputy president and the president started their political union.

"Uhuru and I drove to Ruto’s Karen home. We sat under a tree for three days negotiating a working relationship," Kabogo added.

This comes at a time when a number of leaders have warned the president against neglecting Ruto.

The current Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, also cautioned the president against dealing with NASA leader Raila Odinga.

He claimed that Odinga was famous for destroying political parties and stated the Mt Kenya region would support Ruto in 2022.

“We want to make it clear that as people from Mt Kenya, we are not political conmen. We promised in 2013 that we support President Kenyatta for 10 years and Ruto for another 10 years. Our agreement still stands,” he stated.
