Governor Waititu Speaks Hindi on NTV's Wicked Edition

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu recently impressed Kenyans with his good grasp of Hindi.

Waititu was a guest on NTV's Wicked Edition where he disabused the notion that he had never set foot in India.

The show's host, Dr. Kingori, had asked him to disclose where he lived during his stay in the South Asian country.

The first-term governor revealed that he went to India in 1985 and was in the country for three years and eight months.

Waititu further explained that he attended Gobind Singh College which is an affiliate of Punjab University.

Dr. Kingori then asked him if he knew how to speak Hindi. The governor answered in the affirmative.

"I was there for almost four years. I never came back to Kenya during that time. I was there throughout.

"People rarely speak English in India so I was able to master the language within a short time," he stated.

Waititu told Dr. Kingori that he had learnt many words in Hindi and went on to teach him how to greet people.
