DP Ruto Protests Uhuru Brought Idlers to Government

Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday expressed his disapproval of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's attacks on him.

People Daily reported that the DP told the President that the architects of the movement against Ruto, led by Raila are idlers who have nothing to offer and are only out to derail the Jubilee vision.

Ruto was speaking during a fundraiser at Kamahuha Girls High School in Murang’a County, accompanied by Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, MPs Mary Waithira (Maragua), Rahab Mukami (Woman Rep, Nyeri), Alice Wahome (Kandara), Sabina Chege (Woman Rep, Murang’a), Githua Wamacukuru (Kabete), Jonah Mburu (Lari) and Joyce Korir (Woman Rep, Bomet).

“They have become impediments to our development programmes. But I must remind my fellow Jubilee leaders that Kenyans will judge us by higher standards because we were elected to fulfill the promises we made to them,” stated the Deputy President.

He also accused the opposition of engaging in 2022 campaigns prematurely and asked them to shelve them.

Wakati tunapanga mambo ya shule kama hii tumekuja hapa leo, yule mtu wa vitandawili na watu wake wameanzisha mradi eti stop Ruto movement. Eti hii ndio mradi sasa. (At a time we are busy addressing educational issues like today, this man Raila and his people are busy setting up a Stop Ruto movement which has become their main project)."

"Sasa mimi nawaambia jameni, hii mradi wenu niya 2022, si mtulize boli. 2022 ni mbali (But I can confidently tell you that the movement is about 2022 that is far away. Why can’t they go slow)?” he posed.

A tough-talking Ruto continued, “Mradi woo ni wa kumharibia mtu mwingine kuomba kura. Mwenye kuamua si ni Mungu? Sasa hawa si wanafanya kazi bure. Wametuletea fitina, confusion na ukora. Ati hawataki tujenge barabara, tuunganishe stima na Big Four

Agenda
(Their main project has become stopping one individual from asking for votes from Kenyans. It is God who decides and they are therefore wasting their time. They have so far brought in Jubilee confusion, propaganda, and deceit. They don’t want us to

construct roads, connect power to people and the Big Four Agenda).”

Kandara MP Alice Wahome regretted that Jubilee's open-door policy, without assessing the kind of visitors the party was engaging, could soon harm the government’s development agenda.

She raised concern that though the handshake between Uhuru and Raila had brought down political temperatures in Kenya, it could risk destroying old friendships.
