Ruto Pilot's Girlfriend in Property Row With His Wife

The family of the late pilot, Mario Magonga, who died in a plane crash in March is in a property row after his partner, Joy Mwangi, allegedly hid documents relating to the pilot's wealth.

The pilot's mother, Melania Magonga, wants the court to order Ms Mwangi to release her son's wealth documents.

Masiba was living with Ms Mwangi and three children from his marriage with Nekoye, whom he had allegedly not divorced, at the time of his death.

“After the news of the death of Captain Marouis (Mario) Magonga, the partner Joy Mwangi confiscated and hid all the documents in relation to the estate of the deceased," stated Ms Magonga through her lawyer Sammy Waweru.

The court heard that the deceased had refused entry of the applicant who was the primary beneficiary of the estate.

Reports by The Standard indicate that the family had not yet received Mario's death certificate to this day.

“It is in the best interest of justice that the applicant be allowed to collect and receive the estate and doing such acts to be necessary for preservation of the same and until further representation be granted,” Waweru argued.

On her part, Nekoye wrote to the Kwea Island Development Limited (KIDL) asking for details of her husband's insurance, retirement plan balances, pension information, among others.

“Please fax or email me the obligatory claim forms and I would wish to know the perquisites necessary to process my request for proceeds,” she wrote.

Captain Mario died early March alongside four Americans.
