Photos of Mwalimu Rachel's Bedsitter Get Kenyans Talking

NRG lead presenter and host Mwalimu Rachel, on Thursday, shared pictures of her housing project where she has built three units; a bedsitter and two one-bedrooms.

Taking to social media, the celebrated presenter expressed her excitement of holding the title of a landlady with her completed units.

"Never thought I would ever hold the title: landlady. But life has a way of surprising you! This is one of the three units I have. All already booked and tenants moving by the end of the month," she posted.

She maintained that she referred to the bedsitter as a studio apartment.

"This is a studio apartment (usiseme bedsitter! Sema studio apartment (don't call it a bedsitter, it's a studio apartment) are we together? and I have another 2 one bedrooms," she added.

A section of Kenyans online expressed their admiration for the radio host's accomplishment.

Switch TV presenter Joyce Omondi was among the first to react stating, "This is winning! Congratulations."

Musician Wangechi also chimed in conveying, "This is what everybody in this industry should be aiming for. On my way there and its beautiful to see you sharing this story. Financial freedom is true gold in this world."

Another user added, "Wow now that's real motivation right there."

"This is so inspiring Mwalimu Rachel. Goals. You've made me see life in a different perspective," one user stated.

"I love this woman. She has got brains," others stated.

The radio host explained that she had to make major sacrifices to enable her to complete the rental units.

"Why am I sharing this with you at the risk of being labeled a show-off? So as to show the steady, tedious, journey of steady, tedious journey of growth through sacrifice.

She explained that she had to learn about investing and foregoing some pleasures to realise her goal.

"And with that comes driving the same Toyota RunX for about 7 years now. That comes with getting more money but maintaining my lifestyle and expenditure.

"To anyone who is a dreamer and sometimes gets discouraged by what you see around you, friends balling out of control and having flashy things (and that’s their life! Don't mind them) just stay focused,"she advised.

She advised people to start saving the little they have while creating discipline and working hard.

"And one day, doors will open and opportunities will come. I pray for you to stay grinding and for God to give you the grace to handle the blessings that come your way," she divulged.
