Majority leader Aden Duale, on Saturday, responded to COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli's declaration that DP William Ruto's name would not appear on the ballot in the 2022 election.
Taking to social media, the MP urged Atwoli to stop embarrassing himself by making unverified statements in public.
"Atwoli is the age of my father, I will not insult him since that’s not how I was raised," he began.
"Respect your age! He spews verbal diarrhoea that leaves even a 3-year-old to wonder. Be your age. Stop embarrassing yourself, or you’ll be confirming that “you’ve nothing between your ears," Read Duale's tweet.
Similarly, Ruto's allies embarked on an onslaught against the trade unionist with Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa addressing his remarks in Baringo.
Speaking at Mogotio Township Secondary School in Mogotio constituency, on Saturday, Jumwa dared Atwoli to run against Ruto in the polls if he was man enough.
"Lakini wewe ukasimame kwa jukwa, mwanamume mzima anaitwa Francis Atwoli, unaenda pale unabingirisha kiuno chako kama vile Lonyangapuo alivyosema mtu mfupi mnono round, hana kazi.
(But there's this man, Francis Atwoli, who goes carrying around his huge belly, as West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo would say a short, plump man who doesn't have any work)
"Unasema Ruto hatakuwa kwa ballot. Kama unjihisi umetosha, wewe ingia kwa debe na William Ruto
(You say Ruto will not be in the ballot. If you feel like you can handle it battle it out with Ruto)" she stated.

Atwoli while speaking at COTU fundraising for Lamu Women's SACCO in Lamu on Saturday, firmly stated that Ruto's name would be conspicuously missing because the constitution will have changed.
In 2022, we shall go to elections to elect the president and you will vote a lot. It will be a peaceful election because we will have changed the constitution
"And I want to tell you one thing, William Samoei Ruto's name will not be there. You can take it to the bank for free," he stated amidst cheers from the crowd.
