In yet another shocking case of femicide, a senior police officer shot dead his girlfriend in Mombasa County.
The officer, identified as Likoni Deputy OCS Joab Omondi is reported to have killed the woman in a fit of rage at Lovely Bar in Mtongwe.
According to reports, the incident occurred following a quarrel on Thursday night where after committing the murders he turned the gun on himself.
The OCS died instantly with the report being reported at Inuka police station by a good Samaritan.
One of the women identified as Peninah Kaimenyi was rushed to Coast General hospital for treatment where she succumbed to bullet wound injuries.
The firearm Ceska pistol s/No.G5969 was recovered with 11 rounds of ammunition.
Bodies were removed to Coast General hospital mortuary.
The motive of the shooting is yet to be established as police are still conducting investigations into the matter.
