Touching Scenes as Mothers in Kakamega Twins Saga Meet [PHOTOS]

Days after the story of the Kakamega 'twins' was highlighted in the media, the mothers of the girls met for the first time in what was an emotional moment.

The women were united at the Standard Group offices, with Rosemary Khaveveli being the first to arrive - the anxiety of the unusual reunion visible on her face.

“We have never met. I do not know what I will do when I see her,” she nervously exclaimed as she repeatedly checked her phone for the time.

Minutes later, Angelina Omina walked into the room as an air uncertainty lingered. Pin drop silence engulfed the room as the two inched closer to each other - their daughters equally tense as they watched the reunion unfold.

They stared at each other momentarily before Rosemary opened her arms hugging Angelina, who instinctively reciprocated.

The women, whose fates had been interlinked in the unlikeliest of scenarios, lingered in each other's arms for a while, the moment too emotional for words, tears on the brim ready to gush out with the slightest provocation.

Breaking the silence, Rosemary whispered “What do I say, fellow woman? What is this that has happened to us?”

In their view, the meeting marked the beginning of an uncertain future for their daughters.

The look-alike girls had the DNA test conducted by pathologists at Lancet Kenya on Friday with the results expected to be released the following week.

KEMRI officials added that the girls would undergo therapy and counseling adding that they would await direction from the DCI who have taken up the matter.
