Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, on Friday Night, expressed his admiration for NTV anchor Jane Ngoiri following her social media post exposing an irresponsible tout.
Ngoiri posted on her social media accounts a screenshot exposing the number plate of a public service vehicle whose conductor she had spotted tossing a plastic bottle outside the window.
Sonko pinpointed that he admired the fact that the anchor took it upon herself to expose the erred motorist explaining that it was a piece of advice to Nairobians.
"My compliments to NTV journalist Jane Ngoiri for her advice to Nairobians. It might sound petty but I'm sure with this kind of support we will finally get a solution to this littering problem," he posted.
In her post, Ngoiri revealed that she had engaged the tout on why he had littered the street and he curtly answered that cleaners will take care of it. That was when she posted the matatu for the public to see.
Touched Kenyans took to social media to praise the anchor and her efforts in raising awareness on the importance of taking care of the environment.
"Nice job Jane! Keeping our environment clean is very important, and sadly most people ignore that," posted a user on Twitter.
"The small things we can deal with as a country that can take as a long way in dealing with corruption, relationships and rejection; the broken windows theory," posted another.
This comes at a time when the governor has invested immense resources in various cleaning projects around the city.
Youths in various parts of the city are unclogging the drainage system in preparation of the long-awaited long rains.
