Former KRA Commissioner General John Paul Munge Dies

Former Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Commissioner General, John Paul Munge has died.

It is reported that Munge died at the Nairobi hospital while undergoing treatment.

Those who knew the former commissioner have condoled with the family, with President Uhuru Kenyatta mourning him as a committed Kenyan who was always ready to serve the country.

On Twitter, the president stated that Munge was always ready to use his professional skills to contribute to building the nation.

"The country has lost a patriot who served Kenyans with integrity. I pray that God comforts the family at this difficult period of mourning," he stated.

In 2003, Munge resigned from his position after he was implicated in the loss of public funds and the Eurobond.

The former Commissioner General had served for two years before he and the then CBK Governor, Nahashon Nyagah, were asked to resign.

Munge stated that he was innocent of the loss of the funds.
