Police Dressed as Religious Women Kill 2 Gangsters in Dandora

Police officers dressed as “women in religious garb from a night service” shot dead two armed thugs in Dandora early Tuesday morning.

According to reports by The Star, the two were members of a five-man gang who were terrorizing worshipers from prayer vigils at Stage ya Maji.

Kamukunji police commander Adamson Bungei confirmed the incident stating that the two gangsters were killed after they drew pistols and fired at the cops in the 5 am incident.

Four people had reported at 4 am to Dandora Police Station that they had been robbed and maimed at the same place. It is believed that many more chose to suffer silently.

Bungei revealed that the thugs would easily spot undercover cops prompting them to change tact and look like their potential targets.

“They [gangsters] selected who to attack very well and our officers realised they won’t get them since they easily disappeared after they saw the police," he stated.

He added that three others managed to escape and one of their weapons was found 10 metres from the scene.

Each of the gangsters was reportedly armed with a homemade pistol. The officers also disclosed that the robbers mugged unsuspecting revellers.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, two people passed away and several others were injured after a police Land Cruiser, that was in pursuit of a matatu, rammed into a crowd at Itumbe market in Kisii County at around 9 pm.

Eye witness accounts noted that the vehicles were moving at very high speed at the time of the accident.

One of the victims died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries at Lenmek hospital.
