DP Ruto Narrates Brother's Tragic Death While Mourning Moi's Son

Deputy President William Ruto while mourning Jonathan Moi, recalled the death of his brother Harrison Kiptoo

Speaking at the deceased's home in Kabimoi, Baringo County, Ruto recounted that his brother succumbed to cancer just like Jonathan.

Ruto's brother died of kidney cancer in 2016 after it he was diagnosed at an advanced stage of the disease.

The DP reminded Kenyans of the importance of early detection of the killer disease.

He explained that screening helps doctors to detect the disease early and helps to improve a

patient’s chances of survival.

“We need to educate our people on the importance of visiting hospitals for cancer screening because, if detected in its early stages, it can be successfully treated,” Ruto emphasised.

The DP eulogised Jonathan as his friend and a humble and hardworking man.

He also asked Kenyans to take time and pray for former President Daniel Moi and his family.

After spending time with the family,  Ruto travelled to Kuresoi where he condoled with Bomet East MP, Beatrice Kones, who was mourning the loss of her daughter, Vicky Chebet

"Vicky Chebet Kones was a vivacious, charitable and affectionate young lady. She was trustworthy, reliable and did not shy away from making hard decisions. Our thoughts and sympathies during this trying time," Ruto noted of the deceased.
