MP Jaguar Exposes Impostors Using His Name to Scam Kenyans

Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, has exposed criminals using his name to scam Kenyans.

Taking to social media, the first-time MP warned Kenyans not to fall for a facebook account that promised them money if they downloaded and successfully installed their app.

The MP further felt sorry for all those people that had already parted with their hard-earned money.

"Kenyans don’t get duped... It would be so sad to lose your money to unscrupulous people," he posted on social media.

The Facebook account titled 'Jaguar Loan App' which used the legislator's image claimed that the MP was giving aid of Ksh 5,000 to Kenyans but only if they downloaded the app.

"Jaguar is giving aid to the needly (sic) Kenyans. Receive up to Ksh5,000/=. Install this app and receive now," read a message on the account followed by two emojis representing wads of cash.

This comes two days after the National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale, also raised an alarm of an impersonator who used his account to con people on Facebook.

The incident was so serious that sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) closed in on the suspect identified as James Ombui.

He was arrested on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 and taken to Central Police Station for obtaining money by false pretence.
