Mike Sonko Impresses Morgan Heritage With Swahili Rap

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko unleashed his rapping talent on Friday when he met musical legend Morgan Heritage in his office.

The veteran artist had paid the governor a courtesy call ahead of his concert slated for June 8 this year.

After exchanging niceties with the flamboyant governor who was donning high-end Versace jewelry including a necklace and a watch, the singer dropped some bars with his beloved smooth voice.

He then challenged Sonko to show off his rapping skills and the governor accepted.

"Wakati umefika kwa mafala kujing'oa, warui wa wilaya na wale wa mikoa, nyote ni mafala mnapigwa nao sana, sikizeni kwa makini..." rapped Sonko amidst cheers and well-placed adlibs.

(Time has come for silly people to vacate, Thugs from the abroad as well as those from our regions, all of you are silly since you are getting defeated a lot, listen carefully...)

The 'Just the way you are' hitmaker further took the opportunity to offer inciteful pieces of advice to Kenyan youth asking them not to take their future for granted since the country depended on them to take over the leadership mantle.

"Hey youth, understand that you are the future. You get? Without you we have nothing. Him and I, we are just your servants, you make us who we are. So know your value, know your worth and don't lose focus because you are tomorrow's leaders," he adviced.

One of Morgan Heritage's colleagues further revealed that US people love Kenyans and they were talking about Nairobi which was why they decided that the last leg gets hosted here.

Sonko also took the opportunity to congratulate the singer over his intention to acquire Kenyan citizenship. The singer revealed that the process was underway.

The reggea maestro has previously collaborated with Bongo singer Diamond on the hit track 'Hallelujah'.
