KDF Officer Kills 3 Relatives Before Committing Suicide

A KDF officer from a recruit training group in Kamagut, Uasin Gishu County has killed three relatives, including an aunt and two uncles before committing suicide.

The reasons for the brutal murder are yet to be established, however, it is reported that he had traveled from Gilgil on Monday night to the homestead where the brutal murder took place.

OCPD Eldoret West Zachary Bitok confirmed the incident narrating that officers from Jua Kali patrol base were awakened by the early morning gunshots.

"Four people have died, two ladies and two men," he stated.

Bitok also stated that the officers had recovered spare cartridges from the officers' homestead.

"An analysis of the firearm will establish what kind of firearm was used," he added.

The OCPD also stated that the area had not witnessed any such incidences and that this was an isolated case.

A man who knew the KDF officer well stated that he had mentioned of a lady who was getting married to someone else yet they had been in a relationship.

He added that the ordeal did not seem to agitate him.
