Notorious Criminal Gunned Down After Kidnapping Students

A suspected criminal, Dennis Kimani Mwitheri, was gunned down on Saturday at the Kiandutu Slums in Thika town after he allegedly kidnapped two high school students.

The 32-year-old is suspected to have kidnapped the students from Kenyatta Secondary School in Makongeni on May 1, 2019.

One of the learners is said to have been found at the man's house after investigations by the police.

The police who neutralized the criminal recovered a pistol and four rounds of ammunition from him.

Kiambu Police Commander, Ali Nuno, who took over office last week, stated that the police launched investigations immediately after the girls disappeared.

"Last week after I took over as County Commander Kiambu, I put all the criminals on notice," he stated.

The police commander made a stern warning to the criminals, citing that he would not allow anarchy in Kiambu County.

"My word to the criminal class still remains the same, they either move out of Kiambu or accept salvation," he added.

It is alleged that Kimani is part of a gang that has been terrorizing residents of Kiandutu slum in Thika for a period of time.
