Limuru County's Plan to Force Children to Register for Huduma Namba

The county government of Limuru has reportedly hatched up a plan to force children and their parents to register for the Huduma Namba.

According to Deputy County Commissioner David Kiprop, the government aims to ensure that all children above the age of six are entered into the National Integrated Information Management System (NIIMS).

“Our registration officials will be stationed in both primary and secondary schools to ensure no one is left unregistered. It will be a challenge for parents whose children have registered but they have not,” he disclosed.

Kiprop stated that his office was liaising with Limuru Education Director Stanley Murage on the matter.

According to the deputy administrator, parents who have not registered will be embarrassed when their children register.

The exercise began on Monday, where students from both primary and secondary schools have been registering.

Elsewhere, Tana River County Commissioner warned area residents who will not have been enlisted for the Huduma Namba by deadline day (May 17) will be considered foreigners and a threat to national security thus facing arrest.

In an interview with Nation, Oning'oi Ole'sosio stated that the number is a necessity when it comes to national security and efficient service delivery.

He went on to claim that those opposed to the registration exercise have a hidden agenda against government projects.
