Fake Order on University Students Wearing Uniforms Causes Panic

A viral photo that has been making rounds on social media containing a Citizen TV logo indicating that University going students will start wearing uniforms, has caused panic.

The photo seen by Kenyans.co.ke shows Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha, speaking at a location that appears to be the Parliament. The lower thirds of the photo is captioned 'Universities to Wear Uniforms'.

Speaking to a computer graphic expert, Timothy Gichuru asserted that the photo was fake, stating that the font used on the photo was different from the one used by Citizen TV.

"The font used in the image is rounded whereas Citizen's is usually the Serif typeface," Gichuru stated.

He added that the photo also has a healing mistake at the bottom right of the image.

Netizens reacted to the photo that caused a stir after it started circulating on social media platforms.

"Education CS Prof. Magoha says all university students should wear school uniforms. With all the problems facing education in this country? I don’t know whether to cry or laugh. This Kenya of ours yawa," Ahmed Mohamed (Asmali) stated.

"A man who has not outgrown Starehe Boys. He thinks he is Geoffrey Griffin," David Ndii added in a since-deleted post.

Sources from the station who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke stated that the post had been photoshopped and didn't originate from them.
